Today I want to thank God for the Holy Spirit. 1 week ago, the Holy Spirit prompted me to organise my documents in my laptop and something just urge me to save it in my thumbdrive. So I did. An hour later, my computer crashed. I really thank God for saving my document. Especially those lesson plans and my personal information for UNI stuff. phew.

Today I want to thank God for the good time yesterday. I watched The book of Eli yesterday.
I was personally challenged by Eli. He was had a strong faith. That came about when he had a personal encounter with God, he heard a voice clearly that instructed him to do head west with the Word of God after an apocalyptic event. I admired how he internalised the word of God , so much so that he's able to recite the whole book before he rested in peace.
He taught Solara a few things, of how to give thanks, how to walk by faith and not by sight ( after saving Solara from the man-eaters) and to do to others more than for oneself ( after he had surrended the bible to Carnegie). I thought he lived out the teachings of God really well. Despite beign surrounded by contant dangers, he was unshaken.
Even when he was shot by Carnegie at the end and had to hand over the bible to him,he didn't questioned God. He was still determined to head to the west and assured that God will protect him. He had fought a good fight and kept the faith.
1) God is able to deliver us in difficult situations.
2) God always works in His own special ways.
I was really inspired to dictate the bible from memory as well. For now,I will just start with some verses.

Redeeming shattered dreams
Today, I want to thank God for His precious word.
Sermon Text: Ruth 3
3 Things that I've caught
1. God is a gracious God.
2. Jesus always meet people at the point of their need
3. It's about being the right place and the right time with God's favour.
Let me elaborate on point 3.
It was a new revelation for me when I heard this truth on Sunday by Pastor Kenny. He said, it's about being at the right place,right time with God's favour.
Having a nice academic record is good,however it does not take what it means to have a successful life. I thought it was true to a certain extent, until pastor Kenny gave some real life examples.
He pop the question, asking what are the 2 kind of qualities that is essential in a famous singer. The answer, Good Looks and Age. Think of Susan Boyle. What came to your mind immediately? Bushy brows and frumpy clothes? Look at her, she is not very good looking and not young. Remember the juxtaposition of the audience's first impression of her with the standing ovation she received during and after her performance ? So how did manage to debut her 1st album as the number one best-selling CD on charts around the globe? Definitely got to be God's favour.
Secondly, Pastor Kenny also gave example on one of our local entrepreneur, Elim Chew. She was a young punk and a rebellious teenager who consistently failed at school. After secondary education, she went to London to learn hairdressing. She also observed the street wear in London. When she got back in SG, she brought back street wear fashion as well. Hence started 77th street. If you had read last week's paper, you learn that she also took time out to coach young entrepreneurs.
With God favour, at the right time and place, you will definitely experience what God has in plan for you. That plan that was promised in Jeremiah 29: 11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,saith the LORD, thought of peace and not evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)
For I know the plans I have for you,declares the LORD,plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and hope. (NASB)

Something that I had learn from this is not to fret over what my future will be because God has them already in place before I was born. Though I may not be iseeing what lies ahead of me and being unsure about my future plans, I know that it's more important to know what is God's will for me and to walk in it. At the same time too trust that God's ways and thinking are higher than ours.
